Buenos Aires: Argentine Gaucho Day at Don Silvano Ranch

You will have the option to go by yourself or have a transfer included, depending on the option chosen. Upon your arrival at the traditional "estancia", your day will begin with a friendly welcome reception at the ranch pub, complete with empanadas and wine or juice. Some activities, such as visiting the museum, bakery, and several other parts of the ranch is available to do too.
As you make your way through the ranch you can go horseback riding, ride around the ranch on a carriage, or watch the "Gauchos" saddle up their horses. Lunchtime will provide you with a real Argentinian BBQ while watching a live folklore show with traditional singing and dancing. Your menu will consist of grilled sausages, short ribs, and chicken. Salads and fried potatoes and choice of drinks include red or white wine, soda, sparkling water, and water. For dessert, you will enjoy a creme caramel and coffee.
Following lunch, the Gauchos will demonstrate further skills such as "Carreras Cuadreras", "Carrera de la Sortija" (traditional games and local competitions), and more. You can also enjoy carriage rides, tractor rides, and horseback riding. At the end of the afternoon, it will be time to enjoy some local snacks. You'll enjoy the energizing national drink of Argentina, "mate" (hot tea), and sweet cakes with quince jelly (pastelitos). At around 4:30PM, the activities in the ranch will end and it will be time to return to Buenos Aires.

Prepare for the activity
The Estancia is about 90 kilometers away from Downtown Buenos Aires in KM87 of Ruta Nacional 8. With public transport, take the San Martín train from Retiro Station to Pilar Station and then Bus number 350 from Pilar with destination to San Antonio de Areco. Ask the driver to drop you off at Estancia Don Silvano. The journey should take 1-hour driving and 2-hours with public transport.Open in Google Maps ⟶
