The San Juan and Boedo corner is a traditional place in BA.It became a symbol for the urban culture of the forties and you will experience the merge of past and present on this evening.
What to Expect
The charm and the cultural significance of the place, declared a historic building, attracts hundreds of tourists daily.
San Juan and Boedo represents a true suburb and this site seeks to evoke the times of malevaje cobbled together with the comforts of today.
The challenge for the project, which was carried out by architect Carlos Liuzzi, was to recycle the building so it could be re-used as a meeting place and cultural venue, preserving and restoring the original facades from the time it was built. This project, closely related to local tradition and history, transcends the interests locals and reaches all urban music lovers.

Poet, journalist, screenwriter, playwright, film director. Homero Manzi revolutionized tango, turning his lyrics into poetry.

Homer Nicholas Manzione Prestera, better known as Homero Manzi was born in the province of Santiago del Estero on November 1, 1907. At age 9 he was sent to Buenos Aires where he divided his hours of study with his wanderings through the neighborhood of Boedo. In 1921, at age 14, he produced his first song, the waltz "Because you do not kiss me."He enjoyed great prestige among his colleagues for his works "Milonga sentimental" and "Milonga del 900" already in 1933. Later on, he got involved in journalism, contributing to the Radiolandia Review Journal. In 1937, he began his prolific work as a screenwriter and film director, with his most famous works: The Gaucho War, Old Moneybox, Where My Dear Mother's Dying Words Pobre.
Between 1948 and 1950, with Aníbal Troilo, he unveiled its three most important compositions: South, Che bandoneon and Discepolín. He succumbed to cancer and died on May 3, 1951. He bequeathed a work full of tango poems: The Pescante, My sad night, Malena, Barrio of tango, Clay, White Hand, The last organito, No, left, Romantic, will cry, cry, etc.
