Full description

Book your full-day ticket to the Széchenyi Bath in advance and take advantage of complimentary tasting of Hungary's famous spirit "pálinka" on an optional guided tour inside the Pálinka Museum. The Széchenyi Bath is the largest thermal spring bath complex not only in Budapest but in Europe as well. It was built in 1913 in a Neo-baroque style. At the time it opened its baths were private, having separate steam baths for men and women, as well as different public baths for men and women. In 1927, the spa complex was expanded and today it comprises 3 outdoor and 15 indoor pools. After its expansion, the thermal artesian wasn’t adequate to supply the spa, so a new well was drilled. The second thermal spring dates from 1938. Towels and swimsuits are available for purchase only, no rental. Please note that swimsuits that cover the entire body are not permitted. During your visit, blow off some steam at the pools of Széchenyi Spa (built-in 1913.), which is Europe’s largest healing bath with its’ 15 indoor, and 3 grand outdoor pools. Pools are of varying temperatures, between 18 to 38 °C (64 to 100 °F), and complex covering 6220 square meters (67000 sq ft) also includes saunas and steam bath. Afterward, discover a hidden gem in the city center to taste some Hungarian pálinka (spirits; non-alcoholic drinks are also available). Differently from whiskey or vodka, pálinka is made exclusively from different sorts of fruits and has an aromatic smell.

Inside the Pálinka Museum's interactive exhibits, you will learn about its birth, tradition, and history. That’s why Hungary's Pálinka Act of Parliament exists which regulates and protects the production and quality of palinka.

Loved everything about it. We went on a December as soon as it opened and it got crowded pretty quick. Water kept us warm and really enjoyed our stay. I just hope gyg mentioned to bring our own towels (only said to bring swimsuit, slippers and hair cap) so we had to air dry ourselves and nowhere to rent towels

You have to do this at least once during your stay in Budapest! Clean changing cabins and lockers, I recommend the cabin tickets, it’s not much more and you can change plus leave your stuff there. Kind workers, I’m sure they’re used to tourists by now but if it’s your first time, don’t fear just ask for help nicely, they’ll tell you how to work the changing rooms, your wristband etc. the sauna is huge too! There’s one circle pool slightly hot the other circle pool is extra hot and then there’s a length size pool strictly for swimming not relaxing, but it was great! Definitely would revisit this place! I used bolt to get there and back and each trip was under £10! Definitely enjoyed this but it gets quite busy, even during off peak seasons, it’s busy! I went 9:30am and honestly I’d recommend visiting 9-11:30 after this time, it gets busy. Not too sure but I think there peak is after lunch time. Either way it’s great! We could actually float and swim until 11ish and there were more ppl

Get a cabin, you won't regret the extra space. It can get very busy and it's not very clear where to collect your online tickets (at any of the cash desks) . Make sure you go under one of the waterfalls for a massage like effect. Lovely experience. Highly recommend it.
