Full description

Book your full-day ticket to the Széchenyi Bath in advance and avoid the long wait in the queue at the entrance. Additionally, take advantage of complimentary tasting of Hungary's famous spirit "pálinka" on an optional guided tour inside the Pálinka Museum. The Széchenyi Bath is the largest thermal spring bath complex not only in Budapest but in Europe as well. It was built in 1913 in a Neo-baroque style. At the time it opened its baths were private, having separate steam baths for men and women, as well as different public baths for men and women. In 1927, the spa complex was expanded and today it comprises 3 outdoor and 15 indoor pools. After its expansion, the thermal artesian wasn’t adequate to supply the spa, so a new well was drilled. The second thermal spring dates from 1938. Towels and swimsuits are available for purchase only, no rental. Please note that swimsuits that cover the entire body are not permitted. During your visit, blow off some steam at the pools of Széchenyi Spa (built-in 1913.), which is Europe’s largest healing bath with its’ 15 indoor, and 3 grand outdoor pools. Pools are of varying temperatures, between 18 to 38 °C (64 to 100 °F), and complex covering 6220 square meters (67000 sq ft) also includes saunas and steam bath. Afterward, discover a hidden gem in the city center to taste some Hungarian pálinka (spirits; non-alcoholic drinks are also available). Differently from whiskey or vodka, pálinka is made exclusively from different sorts of fruits and has an aromatic smell.

Inside the Pálinka Museum's interactive exhibits, you will learn about its birth, tradition, and history. That’s why Hungary's Pálinka Act of Parliament exists which regulates and protects the production and quality of palinka.

Super easy & straight forward if you follow the steps: go to cashier 3, “Hungarian Koncert” as you present the tickets. We got the cabin which was great! I had read the review so packed the following: - swimming gear - flip flops - towels - sunscreen - water (you can refill it everywhere) Swimming cap only needed in the big pool with lanes so didn’t bother. Easiest way to access is with the Metro - my 12 year old was able to easily navigate it! It is a few min walk from the entrance to the baths! There is a reasonably priced cafe. If you want to get some loungers, go early! We arrived at 11 mid august so busy day but no loungers/ chairs. It is a really fun experience! Beautiful architecture, lots of different temperatures baths, super clean! Bonus: everyone we met there spoke English - not to be taken for granted in Budapest!

Easy to use ticket. Just exchanged it at the counter. Pools were nice and expansive. Went early in the morning as the pools fill up quickly. Once at the baths they also have beer baths upstairs that you can use for an extra 40-60 euros with free beer to drink. Also went to the Palinka museum afterwards. Short tour and a Glass of Palinka included. Enjoyable experience

A highly recommended spa to visit, it is preferable to go around noon because in the afternoon it fills up with many people so you can enjoy a little more quiet. We took advantage of that morning to do an imperial tour that ends there, so it was a great day. As for the spa, the truth is that it has all the possible thermal water pools and inside it is very good. You can store your things in the lockers with the bracelet that they give you at the entrance, you do not need a lock. You only need a hat if you go to the central pool to swim in the rest of the pools with your hair tied up. It was a very cool experience and you leave there very relaxed.
