Leave Budapest behind for the day and enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive to the south of Hungary to visit the beautiful city of Pécs, named 2010's Cultural Capital of Europe and one of the most beautiful towns in the country.
Once you've arrived in Pécs, embark on a leisurely walking tour of the town's main sights, visiting the stunning Cathedral, admiring the city's Mosque, and stopping in at the Early Christian Mausoleum, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
After a few hours, stop for lunch at one of the local restaurants, and then spend the rest of the afternoon visiting of the many museums in Pécs – including the Vasarely, the Amerigo Toth, the Zsolnay, and the Csontváry – or enjoy some free time for shopping and sightseeing before beginning the journey back to Budapest.
