This experience was a gift for my wife and the best gift she receive (in her own words). She always wanted to learn how to cook gulas stew, but never quite made it at home, so we took this opportunity and we are very glad we did it. First of all, we stayed outside Budapest and Marti's husband Peter was so kind to came and pick us up from hotel (Aqua World) showing us Budapest sights until we arrived at the market. There we met Marti and were introduced in market history. We bought fresh ingredients for our dishes (we wanted hungarian fish soup, goulash stew with dumplings and apple pie) and we ate langos (also a must try experience in Hungary). After that, we went to cook!!!!! Great experience, great teacher, family made palinka :) and natural sirop (juice from fruits), Hungarian wine, and of course, great food. After the meal, Peter took us back to hotel were we relax the rest of the day. Thank you Marti and Peter, we look forward to see you again!!!!

The idea of cooking as an introduction to a country you've never visited before is a great one, and Marti is an EXCELLENT guide! We would very definitely recommend this activity! We LOVED spending time learning, cooking and eating with the KitchenPixie!

From the minute we met at the food market, Marti gave us so much useful information about the history of the market, the food and the customs in Hungary. Arriving at her beautiful kitchen and preparing the food was beyond what I expected. Marti made the entire experience worth every minute we spent with her, and our meal was amazing. Thank you, Marti, for making this experience one of the best of our experiences in Budapest. If I ever make it back for a visit, I hope you're still doing the food market and cooking yours. I would definitely be back for more.
