Full description

Get an introduction to the increasingly wonderful world of Hungarian wine with an annotated wine and cheese tasting experience in Budapest. Sample five top-notch Hungarian wines, paired with a selection of Hungary’s best artisan cheese and charcuterie,

The sommelier-led tasting features a carefully curated selection of five great Hungarian wines, which together will give you a broad overview of Hungarian wine, including the history, the major regions, the important varieties, unique characteristics and styles, and promising trends.

The final wine in the lineup will be a glass of sweet Tokaj aszú wine, one of the world’s greatest sweet wines (and an essential part of Hungary’s wine story).

The tour's focus on indigenous Hungarian grape varieties and unique local styles means that you may taste wines that you have never even heard of before, and may not easily find elsewhere.

The cheese and charcuterie are proudly sourced directly from producers. You will taste things such as Mangalica pork sausages, free-range water buffalo salami, smoked duck breast, grey beef sausage, and various styles of cheese.

Fabulous wines. Passionate introduction to Hungarian wines with interesting information pitched at the right level. It’s not a training course, it’s an extremely enjoyable afternoon with interesting information; oh and great local food too. Couldn’t recommend this enough! Thank you 🙏🏼

This Hungarian wine tasting experience was very well organised. It was informative and provides information about wines from different parts of Hungary. The tasting place accompanying the wine was also delicious. We particularly enjoyed the Cabernet Franc. Highly recommend.

This was so worth it!! I never knew about the Hungarian wines and this was amazing. There was this cheese which was aged and I loved it, I so want to know the name of it! But it’s so worth it. I asked silly questions and they answered it with a smile and one of the best experiences of Budapest.
