Superb afternoon learning about Hungarian food and food traditions, tasting some salami, cheeses, honey, pickles, strudel, and even a famous Hungarian chocolate bar. Gabor, our guide, was lively and fun, throwing in lots of asides to help us understand context and history. We tasted some interesting wines as well as famous spirits as well. Great fun and since the tour, we're looking at Hungarian menus with renewed understanding and far more confidence. Gabor does this tour in German, which wasn't a problem for us, but if you don't speak German, learn now so that you can take this tour when you visit Budapest! :) It would be worth it!

Overall: great experience and definitely worth the money! Our guide showed us the most important and iconic elements and dishes of the Hungarian kitchen. While being thought new things, we got the chance to taste different kinds of cheese, sausage, pickled vegetables as well as sweets and drinks (wine and flavored water). The explanation was supported by an image-rich power point. On top of that, we received a lot of tips for bars and restaurants around Budapest. Definitely recommend to do this tour at the beginning of your travel to Budapest!

The tasting dinner was located in a beautiful restaurant, the guide was lovely and funny. I liked that it was intimate, only 4 people. We heard a lot of new interesting information, tasted local food and wine, got great tips from the guide. Loved the experience and totally recommend it!
