The 72 hour option was excellent value for money. We started by taking the full tour to get to know Budapest. Then we used it to stop off at all of the locations that we wanted to visit. It wasn't too busy in June. Some buses had roof coverings, some didn't. The commentary was excellent, the drivers and guides were all helpful and lovely. Every time that we got to the zoo stop we had to change buses. The red route goes one way so plan your stop offs in order, the whole route takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes. The 72 hour bus was only £8 more than the 24 hour bus so a no brainier. You time starts from the time that you get on your first bus so not from 9am on your first day, unless you get on at 9am, of course! Therefore, we used the bus Tuesday midday until midday on Friday. We never had to join a long queue & we always got a seat. Keep your headphones as you only get them on that first entrance. Big tip - get the Castle Hill blue car/mini bus not funicular, it's a huge area to cover.

Red Line: First departure from Stop 1 at 9am, last departure from Stop 1 at 5pm. Duration- 90 minutes. Buses run every 10 - 20 minutes
Green Line: First departure from Stop 1 at 9am, last departure from Stop 1 at 5pm. Duration - 50 minutes. Buses run every 10 - 20 minutes
Boat Tour- 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 4:30pm and 5pm (included in all tickets). Departures at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm and 9:30pm are available for a small surcharge payable locally
Please note that the last boat tour included in the ticket will be at 5pm and may be overcrowded. It is advised to arrive 30 minutes before departure
Boat Tour- meeting point: Dock no. 6, Duna Korzo, in front of the Marriott Hotel. Each boat tour requires a minimum of 10 passengers. Narrated in English only
