I must premise that the purchase does not give the right to priority access there is only the convenience of buying tickets without queuing. The visit to the synagogue is very interesting and the tour is done in several languages including Italian. The guide was engaging and comprehensive, the visit lasts about 45 minutes then everyone is free to stay as long as they want. The place is truly beautiful and moving at the temple itself. A place to see for sure. Enjoy your visit.

The advanced ticket from Get Your Guide allows you to skip the regular ticket queue and enter through the "Groups" area, although there is a complete lack of signposts about this, as there are about other things - for example the exact way in to the synagogue building itself once you have gone through security. I also found that many of the mainly young staff were rather sour-faced and not particularly communicative. However, the building itself is very beautiful and impressive both inside and out, and it also has many connections with the Jews in Budapest during the Nazi occupation of WW2. There is an excellent exhibition all about the Budapest Jews which should not be missed. You can walk around the synagogue by yourself or join one of the short half hourly tours. There are outside spaces to explore and the synagogue interior. All in all the synagogue is very beautiful and impressive as a building and complex, but is also thought-provoking and touches you on a deeper level.

It was nice to already have a ticket because the line to purchase was long even before 10am. We went straight in and up to the museum to look around before people came in or I’d suggest going straight back to the Raoul Wallenberg Holocaust Memorial Park and get pictures before everyone comes inside. The first tour started at 10:30 and meets inside the synagogue. This is a very interesting building and the Jewish quarter shouldn’t be missed.
