We would highly recommend the Budapest Card. Great value for money and lots of activities included. We did the Thermal Baths, Tour of the Castle, Danube River Boat Cruise, Cable Car, Chimney Cake, and made use of all the public transport. Metro, Trams and Buses are well connected to both Budapest and Pest.

I bought the 72h+ Budapest Card. The BKK desk in the airport was easy to find and the agent helpful. This card included door-to-door shared mini bus transfers which was well-managed. Unlimited public transport meant I could navigate around the major sites and attractions straight from my hotel without worrying about individual fares. I recommend downloading the Budapest Go app - it shows how to get between two points and current location of your selected bus etc. By scanning the QR code on my Budapest Card, I went on a riverboat cruise, an evening Danube cruise, walking tours, the Budapest Castle bus, entered the Buda Tower, The National Gallery, National Museum including St Stephen’s Hall, St Matthias Church and rode a return trip on the Castle Hill Funicular. I opted for a thermal baths and a museum that wasn’t on the free list where the card gave me 20% discount. I feel I got my money’s worth. If you’re going to visit a lot of museums, this card will save you a lot of money.
