Known at one time as the Paris of the Balkans, Bucharest offers visitors countless contrasts. Experience the Romanian capital on a panoramic bus tour, and choose either a visit to the open-air museum or guided walk through the historic center.
What to Expect
Depart from your hotel on an extended panoramic tour of Bucharest, and experience the capital city’s compelling history as reflected in the beautiful architecture of the oldest part of the city, and in the Communist-built apartment blocks as well.
On this half-day tour you’ll travel by bus along its wide boulevards and to its large squares, its monuments, museums, and parks.
You’ll visit the Patriarchal Church, and have 3 photo stops, when you’ll have the opportunity to see the greatest expression of Ceausescu’s megalomania, including the People’s Palace, Revolution Square, and the Military Academy.
Then, you can choose 1 of 2 options for the second part of the tour. Choose the Village Museum option and you explore one of the best open-air museums in Europe. After experiencing aspects of rural Romanian life, you’ll return to the hotel in time for lunch.
Choose the Historic Center option if you’d rather enjoy a short guided walk through the streets of the historic center of Bucharest, with enough free time for lunch on your own at one of the many restaurants in the area. At the end of the tour you’ll return to the hotel.
