What to Expect
This 4-hor tour is all about urban exploration and uncovering the hidden past.

After 50 years of Communism and 20 odd years of transition, Bucharest has no shortage of abandoned urban beauty. The renovation of the 19th and early 20th century historical buildings – viewed as a symbol of upper class domination by socialist authorities - was never considered a priority by the governments of post-communist era. The lack of funds and high levels of corruption of state employees helped the situation greatly. And, when Ceausescu’s planned, centralized industry collapsed in 1989, the same fate was to befall on inner-city factories and other industrial landmarks. This turned Bucharest into a gold mine for urban explorers.

The tour stars strong as you'll get to visit an old decaying house built at the turn of the 20th by a famous couple in Bucharest. Afterwards, you'll hear the story of the former German Ambassador's Residence and then  check out an old royal palace turned into a cozy hangout place - the Garden of Eden. The next stop is an indoor street-art exhibition, located in a very Detroit style, 1929, multi-story parking building. Next take the subway from the city center to the outskirts of Bucharest and explore a decaying industrial area - the former Army Powder Factory. Finish by enjoying the sunset on top of a building in the area and get back to the city center for a cold drink.
