Bremer Canyon Orca Experience from Bremer Bay

2. Bremer Canyon Orca Experience from Bremer Bay

Enjoy a 7-hour whale watching experience from Bremer Bay Boat Harbor to spot orcas.  The harbor is located 180 kilometres or a 2-hour drive from Albany. This is your opportunity to be a part of a new frontier of research and development. Discovered by marine researchers just a decade ago, the Bremer Canyon plays host to the largest congregation of orcas in the Southern Hemisphere, as summer feeding grounds for these incredible marine creatures. It is believed that an Antarctic flow enters the canyon gathering bio carbons which create a nutrient rich environment,  enticing many marine species to the area each year. This interaction creates nutrient rich up welling waters, where phytoplankton develops, and an intense food chain for marine life prospers.  Experts will provide live commentary throughout the cruise and answer any questions you may have. An underwater camera and hydrophone allows you to watch and listen to the whales in their natural habitat.  The Steep Point vessel features 5 viewing decks over 3 levels, where you will enjoy amazing uninterrupted views. Watch for whales from water level to the huge open bow, upper grandstand deck, to the heated interior saloon with luxury lounge seating.  Superior service and no crowding are guaranteed along with complimentary tea, coffee and water. There’s also a fully-licensed cafe on board that serves a range of refreshments.

A very special day out and opportunity to observe orcas hunting and playing. Marine biologists on board gave lots of information about the whales and other wildlife we were seeing. All the crew were great. Lots of food was provided throughout the trip. NOTE - take sea sickness tablets before the trip as some people were suffering.

Absolutely excellent trip, so informative and interesting. My children were engaged for the full day. We seen countless animals and then downloaded the photos afterwards. The food was plentiful and delicious and we would recommend to anyone. Thank you so much for making dreams come true. Ps anti sickness tablets are a necessity

A better understanding by one crew member that age or gender do NOT define an ability to move around the ship while at sea. He nearly caused an accident trying to prevent what he thought might be one. All the other crew members were fabulous.

An incredible experience 🤩🤩🤩!!! We saw more than 40 orcas for more than 4 hours in the area. They were around the boat, going under it and chasing sharks...a truly extraordinary sight. A must do if you love nature 😉🤣👌

It was a fascinating and spectacular day. I was happy with everything.
