Full description
Embark on an adventure through Bryce Canyon National Park on a narrated self-guided driving tour in Bryce, Utah. Witness breathtaking vistas, gravity-defying hoodoos, and much more. This tour has been developed by local guides, curated by creative writers, and narrated by professional voice artists. Watch animated videos along the way that show you what you can't see, such as snapshots from different centuries or interior rooms. Start by downloading the Action Tour Guide app that will function as your personal guide, audio tour, and map all in one. Then, start with a stop at Fairyland Point, an overlook offering a first glimpse at the kind of beauty that’s in store at Bryce. As you drive, hear how Bryce got its name and learn all about the Paiute Tribe who lived here long before anyone else. Pause at Sunrise Point and see the hoodoos that the Paiute believed were the remains of ancient giants. Next, visit Sunset Point, sister to Sunrise Point, which also offers one-of-a-kind views. Come sunset, photographers from all around the world gather here to capture the breathtaking final rays of fiery sunlight. Continue toward Inspiration Point, another iconic vista. Uncover how this landscape formed. Then, turn back the clock and recount the story of the first Mormon pioneers who arrived here and declared this place their new home. After that, visit Swamp Canyon Overlook, which hides stunning views behind its modest name. Hear the Paiute tale of how people first came into the world and get the facts about the connection Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid have with this park. Next, drive through the earth’s oldest trees and learn about the curse which supposedly befalls anyone who dares study these trees too closely. Visit a natural arch, one of Mother Nature’s most impressive creations. Then it’s on to a couple of canyons guaranteed to take your breath away with their sweeping views and lush interiors. Plus, hear a mythical tale of malevolent water spirits which the Paiute once believed occupied these rivers. Heading to Rainbow Point, get filled in on all the wildlife you can see here. Then, learn what to do in Bryce after the sun goes down. Conclude your trip with the rare opportunity to see the sky without light pollution. Experience a view so clear you can see the Milky Way galaxy stretching out across the sky. Along the route, enjoy a bunch of additional optional stops and hikes.

Really recommended for the money. You can see all the highlights and get tips for hikes. Really great. The only thing that was noticed negatively is that there is nowhere the number of miles or kilometers for the hikes. However, that is very important. Should you still do it. Otherwise great.

It was a little confusing at first. The messages don't go in order and we thought a few had been skipped, so we manually played them. We hadn't realized that there are also messages for the drive out, so we ended up hearing those twice. One of the messages was really choppy and we missed half of what was said. I don't know if it wad the reception, or just that message. But it was really informative. I've been to the park a few times, but I got more out of my visit this time because of the program.

The guide was very informative. The only issue with it is that when you reached the next chapter where it would kick on, it would go back to the 1st chapter and you would have to scroll ahead to the correct one. There were 2 of the chapters that didn't play. We did enjoy hearing about Bryce Canyon and the stories of its history.
