Know before you go

  • The time slot is an indication and not a guarantee because waiting lines are common during peak hours
  • Apart from the upper sphere, which is accessible by lift, the rest of the Atomium is not easy to access for people with restricted mobility, and unfortunately it is not suitable for wheelchairs
  • There are 80 steps to walk up and 167 steps to walk down, and it is impossible to avoid this
  • You are advised to visit when the attraction opens and to avoid peak time (between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM) when there is a large influx of visitors
  • After 3:30 PM the flow of visitors tends to reduce
  • During the holiday periods, the attraction can be very crowded which can cause longer waiting times
  • You are invited to check the activity provider's Facebook and Google pages which shows the number of visitors in real time
  • Due to COVID, your admission time may be somewhat delayed due to slower lines for the elevator

Great public transport to get to the Atomium. It was an amazing sight as you saw it for the first time. I had booked tickets online so was a short wait for lift to top floor. The view is incredible. Unfortunately the restaurant on the top floor was closed and would have been amazing to sit and look at the view. The exhibitions was educational and very well explained in several languages. A must see visit if you are in the vicinity. I would definitely return.

A real discovery for the Atomium, a great revival for this moment! I really liked the different atmospheres in the balls. The visit to the Design Museum was interesting because it borrowed from nostalgia, the subject of the exhibition being the 70s and the introduction of plastic in decoration and accessibility to as many people as possible with an opening on eco-responsibility.

It was a fantastic experience. We walked right in and waited in a short line to take the elevator up to the top (level 7). Then we were brought back down and took the escalator up through the various other exhibits. The kids loved the strobe light tunnels and rooms. I will say the lights made me a little dizzy and may not be good for those with light sensitivities or those prone to seizures. After the tour take a walk through the beautiful park.
