Our guide provided interesting history and anecdotes on Brussels as we walked from one chocolate shop to another (about 5 in total) tasting 2-3 chocolates at each stop. The tour was well organized and included an hour decorating chocolates (pots of melted chocolate were provided as the starting point), which also served as an opportunity to take a bathroom break and have some water (needed when tasting lots of chocolates). It's priced about right for what you get.

The tour was very informative and covered a lot of Brussels. I also loved that we went to independent and family owned chocolate shops, not bought out chains. Each shop provided a nice variety from traditional to edgy to lux. The workshop was nice, but I would note that pralines are a relatively small part, and you don’t really “make” them start to finish. You assist the tour guide in making them, and it’s really just filling shells that he has already prepared. Then you don’t eat yours because they have to chill; you eat the ones made by a previous class. Not a deal breaker for us but an important clarification I think. Most of the workshop is more tastings of different kinds of chocolate, and then playing around with making/decorating your own little chocolates/shapes with a pot of warmed chocolate, a spoon, and a few toppings they provide. Still nice but just not quite what we were expecting. But would highly recommend the tour for its local emphasis and its variety!
