Full description

Immerse yourself in the world of chocolate during this chocolate workshop at the Belgian Chocolate Makers in Brussels.

Roll up your sleeves and follow alongside a chocolatier to make your own chocolate bar, truffles, and more. Enjoy a hot chocolate or a glass of lemonade while you work.

Start the activity with a warm welcome from Elisabetta or Patricia, your chocolate maker instructor for the day. Hear about the world of Belgian chocolate so you can take home an array of chocolate-making secrets.

Make your very own personalized chocolate bar and some tasty mendicants and truffles using original chocolate from Haiti.

As you create, hear about ruby chocolate, a newly discovered cocoa bean that is 100 percent natural that creates pink chocolate treats.

Taste a real cocoa bean and a delicious liqueur de cacao. As you work, try the 3 different origin chocolates: Philippines (Mana), Congo (Ituri), and the illustrious ruby chocolate. During the activity, enjoy a delicious cup of hot chocolate on cold days or a glass of cool water on warm days.

Before you leave, get some leaflets describing the ins and outs of cocoa production and enjoy a 10% discount in the store.

At the end of the experience, pack up your chocolates and take them home with you to share with friends and family (or keep your sweet treats all to yourself).

This is an entertaining workshop to learn about our cacao and Belgian chocolate. It is not a class to make some chocolate bean to bar. You cannot become a chocolatier in 1.5h... Making chocolate from the beans take a minimum of 2 days, nowhere you will learn how to make some chocolates from the beans in a few hours.

We are asked to come 20 minutes before because otherwise we will not be accepted into the workshop. A group of 10 people was accepted 15 minutes after the start of the posted time. So for the people who come before, they waste unnecessary time when we are tourists.

It was an enjoyable learning experience. Our artisan/guide taught us a great deal and it's great being able to take our creations home. I also appreciate how keen the staff are about cleanliness. Tips for an even better workshop experience: 1. Have someone present to open the door and receive us when we arrive 20 minutes early as you requested. Don't ignore the doorbell, especially when we are following your instructions...while standing in the rain. 2. Include in the description of activity that attendees will be standing for 1.5 hours OR provide stools as an option for those who are not able to stand comfortably for the duration of the workshop. 3. Offer the tasting of the sweet drink (forgot the name) AFTER the tasting of the very bitter cacao bean.

This chocolate making activity was so much fun! Elizabetta is fabulous, fun and highly skilled the class made a chocolate bar, truffles, and individual chocolates. We all had the best time! This was by far my favorite event of my Brussels trip. Well worth the money.
