Full description
Take a day trip from Brussels to Antwerp, the second-largest city in Belgium and home to Europe’s second-largest harbor. On a 5.5-hour excursion you’ll have the opportunity to explore Antwerp’s rich past. This is the city that was home to P. P. Rubens, the world-famous painter of the 17th century. You’ll be taken to the city center and depart the tour bus to visit Marquet Square, which is lined by ancient houses. This is also the site of Our Lady's Cathedral. The entrance fee for touring the cathedral is included in the price of the tour. Our Lady’s Cathedral houses, among other treasures, 2 of Rubens' masterpieces. You’ll see The Elevation of the Cross and The Descent from the Cross on display here. You’ll also have a chance to see the oldest part of Antwerp’s harbor, during a drive-through on the tour bus. Was OK

In itself a very nice tour - unfortunately our chain-smoking tour guide Frank seemed a bit demotivated and was not ready to answer additional questions from different tour participants (which would have been interesting). Would have been okay if he had simply admitted not knowing something, but he just couldn't do it.

Good guide

The guide was knowledgable but we didn't visit a lot of important places or historically famous places. The group was too big to make the tour efficient. The tour company is very poor in coordinating. They missed my hotel pick up and I had to rush walk to their office to make it to the tour buss. It happens twice. The bus driver almost got into accident twice inside city area.

Well worth the money and well organized

We enjoyed this tour as it was well organized. There was about 3-4 hours on foot in Antwerp and an hour to do what you wanted so it provided enough flexibility to see at least the most interesting parts of the city properly. The guide was knowledgeable and interesting. The pickup at the hotel was very efficient also. Definitely recommend.
