Then, embark on the second part of the tour. Board your boat at the quay for a cruise along the canals. Sail beside ivy-covered facades and under bridges as you learn about the beautiful sites from your captain. Admire the old trading houses at the former harbor and the Beguinage. Lovely lady called Rita was our tour guide for the afternoon. We were provided with lots of information and shown some real hidden gems. We broke mid tour to go on a boat trip of the canals which was lovely, you really do get to see Brugge and its beautiful buildings in all its splendour this way and the captain of the boat was a really funny guy. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and we would definitely recommend it so thank you Rita.

The sights and history were incredible and the canal boat ride was the best part of the tour. While our guide was great, it was difficult to hear her at times because she didn’t use a microphone, nor did she speak with a loud voice. Other than that, highly recommend!

This tour has the peculiar feature to be partly on foot an partly by boat. In a 2h tour you will see the most significant monuments and places of Bruges from two perspectives. You will enter a couple of churches and may decided to come later for a more accurate visit of museums or other tourist attractions. A boat cruise is a must in Bruge and in this one the Captain spoke various languages (English, French, Dutch, Italian) to explain the various places and sights. Our guide showed to us the most significant places and I appreciated a lot that she arranged the visit of the Precious Blood church right when there was the relic ostension. While walking among the roads of Bruges she unveiled several interesting details you could never work out from printed or on-line guides. Finally she offered to us a delicious chocolate tasting experience, a passage in a bar with thousands of Belgian beers.
