Meet the gorgeous camels of Broome, and give them a pat while the staff take a photo for you with your camera! On this 1-hour activity you’ll see the sun set over the Indian Ocean as you ride on a camel specially chosen for you. After everyone has arrived, there will be a safety introduction provided by Alison Bird, the longest-serving camel ride operator in Broom. She’ll share her experiences with camels throughout the West Australian outback.  Watch as she shows you how to mount and dismount your camel. Alison will then choose a camel specifically for you to ride. The staff will assist you in mounting the camel, and when everyone in the group is ready to go, the camel train makes its way to the water’s edge. Take in the fantastic views of the Indian Ocean, and listen as the staff tells you the story of the camel in Australia. Watch in awe as the sun sets over the ocean. Hand over your camera to the staff for them to take some photographs as you enjoy your walk along the beach. Towards the end of the ride, you’ll be reminded about how to safely dismount. After you’re back on firm ground you’ll get to treat the camel with a well-deserved carrot.

Your day starts with a complimentary transfer from your accommodation to a beach landing on the shores of Roebuck Bay. From here, you will dip your toes in the calm waters of ‘The Bay’ as you make a shallow wade on to the awaiting transfer tender that takes you to our catamaran ‘Ballena’. On board, you will be greeted by our vibrant crew a, light morning tea and a nice cup of tea, coffee, juice or even a mimosa for those really eager to slip in to holiday mode. As you sip, we will cruise through The Bay admiring it’s unique scenery which includes mangroves, bright turquoise water and striking Pindan rock formations. Cruising over to the incredible creek systems takes about an hour and being a low powered catamaran, there is little noise to disturb the scenic beauty making it the perfect time to relax and unwind ahead of the next few fun filled hours. Arriving at the mouth of the creek system, our expert staff will give you a briefing on what to expect and the best techniques to secure your very own delectable Kimberley Mud Crab. Once we’ve shown you our ways, we will take small groups of up to six on the tender to meander through the intertwined mangroves in search of the highly sought after Kimberley Mud Crabs. Everyone will have a chance to try their luck at picking a prime spot, casting a pot and the ever suspenseful pulling of the pot. For those still on Ballena whilst the others are having a crack at bagging their elusive crab, our staff will ensure you are completely taken care of as you relax on our comfortable shaded decking. Once everyone has enjoyed the excitement that is the quest to secure your very own Kimberley Mud Crab, we will show you how to prepare these delectable morsels before cooking them up for you to be enjoyed on board as we make the cruise back through the bay keeping an eye out for wildlife as we go. Please note: Availability dates for this tour are based on the tide cycle, not particular days of the week. As it is weather and tide dependant, you may be contacted and offered an alternate day if the conditions are deemed unsuitable.

This unique 1 hour tour offers a guided commentary on Broome’s pearling history. Travel back in time to an era of courageous men who lived a life of danger, fortune and adventure. Visitors are captivated as 150 years of Broome’s unique maritime and pearling heritage unfolds in the very environment where the history was made, amongst the mangroves on the foreshore of Roebuck Bay’s Dampier Creek. Pearl Luggers is located right in the heart of ‘Chinatown’ and features a fully rigged and restored pearl lugger surrounded by a replica inter-tidal jetty and tenders store. It is without doubt the closest link to the pearling era of long ago where daily life ebbed and flowed with the comings and goings of the great pearl luggers fleets.

Beginning at Willie Creek, enjoy a sampler tour on the perils of the deep and hear what the early pearl divers had to endure. Visit Sun Pictures, the world’s oldest outdoor cinema still in operation. View sights such as the Japanese Cemetery, Diver's Statue, and Town Beach Head through Old Broome and pass the old pearling masters' homes. At Town Beach, learn of Broome’s One Day War then stop at Matso’s Brewery. Enjoy a beer tasting hosted by one of Matso’s knowledgeable staff, including their famous ginger beer. Visit the Japanese Cemetery and Broome Port before arriving at Gantheaume Point, known for dinosaur footprints and Anastasias Pool. Then, it’s down to Riddell Beach for a quick dip or to wander along the beautiful sands and enjoy the scenery. As the sun sets over the water, enjoy some light refreshments and nibbles as you watch the sun sink slowly below the horizon - a perfect ending to a beautiful afternoon. A drop off to your hotel is included (approx 6:30 PM) or you can also stay at Cable Beach to enjoy dinner at one of the many cafes.

This was a brilliant activity. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who took plenty of really good photos for everyone, beach was beautiful and the sky moody. I would highly recommend this iconic Broome activity. Camels were calm and don't bite!!

The whole experience was so much fun. The staff were very helpful with questions and taking great photos The fact there was a ramp to get on the camels was very safe and better for the camels as well.

Really enjoyable. Magical seeing the sunset. The helpers were great and took lots of photos on my camera for me. The camels were obviously very well cared for
