Our 3-hour tour from Bridgetown takes you into the center of the island of Barbados, where you will venture into the Earth to explore the very magnificent Harrison's Cave.
What to Expect
At the heart of Barbados lies one of the island's greatest wonders, Harrison’s Cave.
A unique phenomenon of nature, Harrison's Cave is an amazing gallery of stalactites hanging from the roof of the cave and stalagmites that emerge from the ground with streams of clear running water that drop from breathtaking waterfalls to form deep emerald pools.
During a 40-minute underground journey, visitors are driven through the cave in electric trams. You will be directed by knowledgeable tour guides who will point out the various structures as well as the new formations which are continually growing in this living cave. At select points you can disembark from the tram for a closer look at the cave's features, and at the lowest point you are able to walk alongside a spectacular waterfall which plunges into a deep pool below.
The attractive visitor's center provides a refreshment area and handicraft shops, along with an exhibit of indigenous artifacts that have been excavated from various sites around the island, a souvenir shop, restaurant facilities, and elevator access to the tram for those with disabilities.
During the return trip we stop in the Scotland District, an unspoiled area of rugged and forested highlands.
