Experience an informative walking tour of Bremen's Böttcherstraße. Now one of the most popular sights of the city and under monumental protection since 1973, Böttcherstraße and its buildings are a rare example of Expressionist architecture. In 1902, Ludwig Roselius, influenced by the owner, purchased Haus Nr. 6 on Böttcherstraße (today the Ludwig-Roselius-Museum) and erected the administrative center of his company, from which Kaffee HAG later emerged. Roselius then acquired multiple other properties on Böttcherstraße. Between 1930 and 1931, Bernhard Hoetger built the "Atlantis House," based on the utopian story of the fabled city of Atlantis. Built with geometric forms of glass, wood and steel, the house has an Art Deco style; the staircase and "Himmelssaal" remain original and significant examples of German architecture between the World Wars.
