Wander through the market square, the heart of Bremen and one of the prettiest squares in Germany. Marvel at the UNESCO World Heritage listed town hall and the stone statue of Roland. Study the sculpture of the Bremen Town Musicians, made famous in a Brothers Grimm fairytale. Discover Böttcherstraße, a pedestrian alleyway bursting with tradition where the böttcher (coopers) used to make their barrels. Leading from the market square down to the Weser river, the most famous street in Bremen is an attraction in itself with historical red-brick buildings interspersed with modern Expressionist architecture. Take in the picturesque Schnoor quarter, the oldest part of Bremen. Wander through its rambling lanes, where fishermen, artisans and sailors once lived. Explore the cafés, taverns, top-notch restaurants and handicraft stores that now line the streets.

We had a great guide who took us past the main attractions around the central square area. At each stop he was able to give great information about history, culture, current events, architecture, etc. and confidently answer questions. In addition to giving all the standard information, our guide was full of little side stories and anecdotes from his own experiences or from the history books that really made the tour more engaging. With limited time in Bremen, this tour was a great way to be introduced to the city.

Piere, our guide, spoke excellent English and told us many interesting facts and anecdotes. It was one of the hottest days but he went at an easy pace and thougtfully stopped in the shade at all of the points of interest. He also got us back to the Glockenspielhaus just as it was time for the bells to chime and the picture tower to turn. The tour then continued and finished in the Schnoor district, just perfect for Kaffee and Kuchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and now know a lot more about Bremen than we did before.

The Guide was great! You can see how much love and appreciation he has for this beautiful city. There was no time for boredom during this tour. Absolute recommendation! PS. You probably should plan a bit more than 2 Hours for this tour, there is a lot to see!
