Explore the beautiful Slovakian countryside, visit a pottery workshop, find out about the traditions and history of the Slovaks and sample some local food and wine on this 6-hour tour from Bratislava.
What to Expect
Experience another side of Slovakia in this 6-hour guided tour of the countryside, visiting a castle, and a traditional pottery workshop before sampling wine and food in a local wine cellar.
The little Carpathian mountain range is close to Bratislava but you will feel as though you have entered a different world when you see this peaceful landscape.
Famous for the fertile wines growing here we will take our time and discover the traditions and history of the area.
First off, we will visit the Red Stone Castle which towers above the village of Casta. Built in the 13th century as a frontier defense, the castle is now a museum and has beautiful views of the surrounding area.
Next, we will go to the historic town of Modra, famous for the blue and white porcelain it produces before enjoying a tour of the city Pezinok.
A Majolica Pottery workshop where pottery is made and sold will be our next stop. You will be shown how the pottery is made and given the opportunity to make and decorate your own stoneware.
There will be plenty of free time for lunch in Pezinok. To sample some of the region´s wines in a stylish wine cellar we will have a break on our return journey at the small town of Svaty Jur.
During the tasting you will also get to try local Slovakian food, including home-baked bread and cheese or salami and fruit.
After a well-rounded day we will return you to your hotel in Bratislava.
