This area is located on the south-eastern slopes of the Small Carpathians and is one of the eight winegrowing regions of Slovakia. Arrive at the Red Stone Castle, one of the most romantic castles of Slovakia, with vast cellars which were once used as warehouses for copper. To enter, you can pay an additional fee. Continue towards the historical town of Modra. Modra is famous for being the birthplace of Slovakian national hero Ludovit Stur, who fought for the autonomy of Slovakia in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Stur also had a significant influence on the revival of the Slovak language and introduced the Slovak language standard. Enjoy a walking tour in the historical city center of Pezinok with the option of entering the Majolica Pottery Factory. Continue towards the small town of Svaty Jur to discover its charming streets. Take in the views and the mountain air just a couple of hours outside of Bratislava on this guided hiking tour. Ride the cable car all the way up to Snilovske Peak and admire the natural scenery. Leave Bratislava's main train station early in the morning and arrive in Zilina (private transfer is available at extra cost). Meet your guide and drive to the beautiful Vratna Valley. Take a cable car from Chata Vratna to Snilovske peak at 1500m. From there, enjoy a moderately challenging hike to Chleb Peak at over 1600m, and descend to Poludnovy Grun, and then to the mountain chalet at Chata Pod Grunom. Taste some traditional "slivovica" plum brandy and horalky biscuits along the way. Take some free time to eat lunch or have some refreshments in the chalet (not included) before returning to the Vratna Valley. Transfer back to Zilina Station for your train ride back to Bratislava.

Departure from Vienna: - at 09:40 from Vienna International Busterminal (VIB) at the departure terminals. Arrival in Bratislava: - At 10:50 you will arrive at the Bratislava on Novy Most bus station. You will have an hour free, until meeting with a licensed local guide at 12:00 PM in front of the main entrance to Park Inn Danube Hotel (you will just cross a zebra crossing from Novy Most bus station, the meeting point is located about 250 m from the bus station). A guided historical walking tour within the city takes 1 hour. At the end of the walking tour, your guide will take you to a local restaurant and assist you in ordering the local menu (2-course menu). After lunch, you will have free time on your own in Bratislava, for walking, shopping, or just enjoying yourself in the beauty on the Danube. This was such a great day trip!! The views on the hike were amazing! Andrej was such a great guide who was very friendly and provided so much information on the surrounding area and Slovakia as a whole.

The excursion was great. Arrived in Bratislava we had a guided tour of the old town for about 2 hours. Then we had time until 6 p.m. to explore the city.

We had a very nice tour. Our local guide Gloria was great! She shared with us a lot of interesting facts and information. She is very knowledge.
