Full description

The tour will begin from the meeting point located in central Brasov. You will be driven in towards Bran Castle. Completed in 1382, the castle was built on a steep cliff between Măgura and Dealul Cetăţii, with an exceptional view of the nearby hills. Learn about this famous castle, especially the tales of Count Dracula as you walk the ancient halls.  Next, you will head to Sinaia, the former summer residence of the Romanian royal family. The one hour drive offers spectacular views of surrounding nature and wildlife. Then encounter Peles Castle, considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in Europe. Visit an architectural masterpiece, discover it's wonderful saloons and learn about the heritage.  The next stop at Sinaia Monastery, buit in 1690, will conclude the architectural styles of the three Romanian provinces of Wallachia, Transylvania and Moldavia, we will enjoy a masterpiece of church architecture, orthodox frescoes and Romanian national symbols. On the route home, you can see the view of the Transylvanian Alps, the Bucegi Mountains, and the lively resort-towns of Busteni and Predeal.

Very well planned itinerary with experienced guide knowing how to time things to avoid queues and get the best out of each location. Florin was excellent, speaking fluent English and Spanish and had great historical knowledge of each area. Could maybe have done with a bit more ‘free time’ included at Bran Castle - after visiting the castle we didn’t have enough time to do all the additional options like seeing the medieval torture instruments rooms, plus visiting the gardens, shops nearby, and fitting in bathroom/refreshments in the time allowed before moving on to the next stop.
