Two extraordinary castles, each grand in its own ways
The day-trip was excellent, especially because of the fabulous guide (Serban Riga), who was an absolute font of knowledge on both Peles and Bran Castles, as well as a wide range of regional history, geography, customs, and culture. It was a long day, but the bus was very comfortable, the weather perfect, and, once again, Serban provided intermittent, very interesting commentaries, interspersed with humorous stories. The only minor problem encountered was a lengthy delay at Peles Castle, before our group was admitted. However, that was not by any means the fault of our guide; he, in fact, kept us thoroughly informed about the situation, which helped reduce the minor frustration, while expediting the castle staff to get us inside as soon as possible. All things considered, this was a great outing, with our guide getting the highest rating.
