Full description
Enjoy a culturally-enriching day exploring Stonehenge, the city of Salisbury, and the New Forest National Park. Leave Bournemouth and drive north through the heart of Neolithic England. After a short visit to the Knowlton Church and Henge, you’ll arrive at the highlight of your tour: Stonehenge. Check in to the award-winning new visitors’ center early to avoid the crowds and receive your headset. You’ll be given 2 hours of time to explore the center’s array of exhibits and this mysterious site: fortress, calendar, temple, or hospital?

Then, head past Old Sarum into the city of Salisbury. Your guide will walk you from the cathedral walls through to the green, giving you an overview of the cathedral’s 800-year history. Armed with a map and free time, continue to explore the cathedral and city at your leisure. Simply join a volunteer guide inside the church to see the best remaining copies of the Magna Carta. Take lunch and explore the city center or visit the Guildhall Square for market day on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

In the afternoon, drive through the ancient wilderness of the New Forest National Park. Learn about the people and practices that have shaped the forest over the last 1000 years. Walk through the forest and observe some of the wildlife that helps to form this unique environment, including thousands of new forest ponies which roam this area.
