The trip was great and we did see some whales and dolphins!! Unfortunately as we were outside we could not hear any of the commentary at all. When we mentioned this to one of the crew they said if we wanted to listen we had to sit inside, no-one had mentioned this and a lot if us were very disappointed. Also we were not given the guide book/leaflet which again was disappointing. Having said that it was an amazing 4 hour trip which we would thoroughly recommend.
It's a great product but I was disappointed that we only really saw one pair of whales and they were feeding so their appearances were sporadic. I would have preferred to have stayed out later to try and find other whales. I am astounded that you have PLASTIC straws and stirrers at the snack bar!! Really? You talk about the environmental impact of waste on marine life and and use disposable, single-use plastics???
Had some great whale sightings - kick feeding, breaching, bubbles, fluke flipping, etc. but it was very crowded and cold and wet. when the notes say bring a jacket, they aren't kidding!! Probably because we went on this excursion in Oct, but should've brought gloves, scarf too! make sure your jacket is waterproof!! Overall, it was a worthwhile trip. just be weather ready!!
Amazing experience. Saw half a dozen whales including two mother/calf pairs. We watched a calf playing at the surface metres from the boat which was incredible. The BHC team were clearly passionate about their work and educating visitors about the whales and efforts being made to protect them.
Everyone working did an excellent job, especially the server at the food/drink station. Long lines , yet she stayed calm, smiling and helpful to each and every person. Incredible. The only thing I would say negative is that it was very hard to hear the guide when not using the speaker.
