This is a great day trip when visiting Boston. The optional tour is a bonus if you don't have specific plans once you arrive at Martha's Vineyard. However, if you want to eat and shop while at Oak Bluffs, I suggest you forego the tour.

Our guide was excellent. Dressed in period costume, he was lively, informative and skilled in getting the tour members engaged. He was a wealth of knowledge and shared that with our group.

The tour guide was really knowledgeable about the actual historical events that took place. Definitely worth it to get the stories while standing in the sites that they happened.
