On this exclusive full-day wine tour you will enjoy private visits and wine tastings in 3 prestigious classified growth Chateaus of different appellations.
What to Expect
Your tour will begin in the Margaux appellation with a private "Prestige Visit" in a Classified Growth Chateau. Here, the richness and personality of a soil created over more than two million years by the accumulation of Pyrenean gravel, together with the climate and the flora, make up the precious DNA of the estate. Over time, mankind has learned to develop and communicate knowledge, discovering ways to innovate so as to better express the originality and authenticity of the Château's terroir. After a visit of the technical installations, you will wine taste two wines and discover the famous Cannelés cakes.
Then, follow the legendary Castle road that is lined up with some of the most prestigious wineries that the Medoc region is composed of including Chateau Palmer, Chateau Margaux, Chateau Pichon Longueville and so many more...
After some time for lunch, continue on to Classified Growth Chateau Camensac. The estate borders the Saint-Julien appellation, in the commune of Saint-Laurent-Médoc. The vines are located on the area's finest gravelly rise. The topography is fairly steep and the pebby soil quite deep. Here, your private visit will focus on the 1855 Classification system as well as on the unique methods of marketing linked to Bordeaux wines. Finally, you will participate in a vertical tasting during which you will sample similar wines but from different vintages including: 2005, 2006 and 2011.
Your last visit will take place in Classified Growth Chateau Lagrange located in the west of the Saint-Julien appellation. With an altitude of 24 metres, the centre of the domain marks the highest point of Saint-Julien. The estate covers 157 hectares (390 acres), of which 115 hectares (284 acres) are under vine. The red grape varieties planted are those that typically thrive on the Médoc terroir, with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot. The Cabernet Sauvignon contributes structure and ageing potential, the Merlot roundness and body, and the Petit Verdot fruit and complexity. After a private visit of the installations, your last wine tasting of the day will be paired with some of the finest cheeses aged by a famous local master "Fromager" so as to discover complementary or contrasting flavors with the wines tasted.
