Bologna: Hands on Home Cooking Class

This class is held in Irene’s apartment in the suburbs of Bologna. Easily accessed by bus, taxi car. It is nee family apartment so it’s very authentic. Irene has tables set up and we worked the pasta there with one other couple. She was lovely and so genuine and we learned how easy it is to make fresh pasta and how so much more delicious it is!

It was an interesting experience, we learned to cook 3 types of pasta and we also ate them. Irene, our host, was friendly and very dedicated like a mother. The weird thing was that it was in an actual small apartment, nothing professional. The table we worked on was clean, but the rest of apartment (e.g. the bathroom, the kitchen) was not so clean and it was quite cluttered. I would have expected something more professional, even if it was at someone's home.

Great workshop, lovely host, poor management from GetYourGuide. The class was really fun and in a lovely, authentic Italian family home. We made three different pasta dishes, all of which were tailored to suit me as a vegetarian. The host and her daughter were so welcoming and hospitable. The only downside was that GetYourGuide messed up my booking. I enquired via email about the cancellation policy due to my travel partner being ill on the day, so only I could attend. I received no response, and when I alone turned up to the class, the host had been told that my entire booking was cancelled. Fortunately, she was still very accommodating and sorted a place for me. I still have not had a response from GetYourGuide. It’s also worth noting that the location is a bit far out of the city centre so check transport links in advance.
