Visit the most popular natural attraction in Bohemian Switzerland National Park, Pravcicka Gate, famous for being Europe’s largest sandstone arch. The site was used as a filming location for the movie Narnia, and there’s no escaping the Gate’s magical qualities.

Mysterious and inspiring, the gate is hidden deep in the woods and this impressive symbol of the National park stands 21 meters tall, leaving all the spectators in admiration.

The next stop is lunch which caters to vegetarians, vegans, and meat lovers alike. Enjoy a traditional Czech meal at a stunning stone house that was built on the stream in 1905 by German workers.

This newly renovated restaurant will surprise you with an amazing steampunk-style interior, which is decorated with gears, rivets, and a huge clock with visible gears and the sound of mechanics.

Your last stop is Bastei n the Saxon part of the National Park. The Bastei rock formation has plenty of viewpoints over the Elbe canyon on the right bank of the river Elbe. Walk across the famous sandstone bridge that connects Bastei and explore the ruins of the old Neurathen rock castle.

Know before you go

  • You have booked a tour option that is designed for active people who are used to outdoor activities. The hiking distance is 10 km or 6 miles in a forest on a partially rugged terrain. That includes a 1.5 hour long hike (walking with no special gear required) to reach the Pravcicka Gate monument. Overcoming some stone stairs during the tour is necessary to reach the highlights. The pace of the tour will be moderate for someone who is used to hike and can be very challenging for some first-time hikers. We do not recommend taking this tour in case you are ongoing a healing time with your ankle, leg, knee etc

Stunning scenery, a fantastic day out and enjoyed all of it. A fair bit of walking is involved. It was good for the soul, majestic, to get out into such natural beauty and fresh air. The views were breath-taking. Our guide Filipe was punctual, kept us all on track, was easy company and made the day fun. Pick up and drop off from the hotel, so no running around trying to find meeting points via the Google blue dot. The food at lunch was delicious and a good range for vegetarians as well as a standard menu. Definitely recommend this tour.

Everything about this tour was well organised from pick-up to drop off. Everything ran on time and very smoothly. Christina our tour guide on the day was very friendly and knowledgable! There was only two of us on our tour day and so we had a more personal experience. Choose Christina : -)

Guide picked us up on time at our hotel. The guide was polite and explained the entire day to us. We had a small group (only 4 of us) The drive was 2hrs from Prague to the park. Once we got to the park we hiked (the most strenuous part of the day) very up and down steep stairs. We took a gondola ride, the guide for the boat spoke in German but our guide translated. After the boat ride we climbed back up the mountain and to the parking lot. We stopped for the bathroom and afterwords went to the restaurant for lunch. Transitional Czech Food. After lunch we heading to the Bastei Bridge and it was well worth all the stairs. The views and history are amazing. Lots of pictures to document out day. After the bridge we stopped for the bathroom and headed out. The ride back everyone took a nice long nap! I would 100% recommend this tour.
