We had a GREAT tour with our guide Jhon. Communication was very good from the time of booking until our pick up. Instead of a dedicated meeting point, he offered to pick us up directly from our place in La Candeleria which was wonderful. Jhon was a great guide in every aspect and took time in the salt mine to explain everything and we never felt rushed. We had some free time in Zipaquira and after the tour he took us all to a great restaurant (not incl. in tour cost). The traffic coming home was awful due to a rain storm but Jhon was a safe and efficient driver. This tour was better than we expected.... thank you Jhon !

Full description

In Colombia, you will find the only underground cathedral in the world, located 180 meters underground. This mega structure is one of the most impressive wonders of the country and the planet.

The entire cathedral is carved from salt, coming from the largest salt rock deposit in the world. During the tour, you will discover several stations that represent the interpretation of the Christian Via Crucis. In addition, the central dome, where Eucharists are celebrated, presents an impressive artistic work of sculpture and lighting, along with natural structures characteristic of salt deposits. This set of elements will leave you breathless.

At the end of the tour of the salt mine, the charming town of Zipaquirá awaits you. There you can explore its central square and enjoy its beautiful colonial-style streets, where the local cuisine will enchant you with a typical lunch and will be the perfect ending before returning to your accommodation.
