Full description

Go on a guided walking tour through Bogatá’s El Paraíso favela district. Hop on a cable car, meet with community leaders, learn about the local life, and see technicolor graffiti-filled walls.

Start your journey with either hotel pickup, or a bus transfer, accompanied by your guide. Arrive at the cable car station and begin your ride up the hill to El Paraiso.

Takin in the panoramic views as your soar over the city. Gaze down at the colorful houses, and get a bird's eye view of the harsh living realities faced by the residents.

After your ascent, head off on a walking tour with your local guide to get a feel for the neighborhood. Wander the bustling avenues, spotting street art among the neon-painted houses and narrow boulevards.

Meet local community leaders in charge of the New Life Foundation, learning about the positive changes that are being put into place to help revitalize this vibrant, yet underserved district. Continue to the best spot for panoramic views over the entire city, then try a traditional Colombian snack to get a feel for local culinary culture. Afterwards, head back down on the cable car, having seen a glimpse into one of Bogotá's most notorious favelas.

This is one of those eye opening tours I've ever done while traveling. I got to see a different side of Bogotá or the entirety of Bogotá. Juan was so knowledgeable and knew the story behind most of the graffiti in Bolivar. The experience is so raw and the other traveler cancelled so I got my own private tour. A++!

This one is an absolute and honest 5-star rating. I would highly recommend to attend this tour of you're curious about the upcoming areas in a city like Bogotá. Already the preparation was good, Juan, the main guide, sent a message on Whatsapp to announce the pickup time and location, which was dead center Bogotá. We met with the group, for which I was a little hesitant, since I'm not really fond of group activities. I was proven wrong this time, the group was a perfect size of 9 in total. We were driven to Portal Tunal where we changed to the cable car. At the highest station we met Camilo, a local very nice guy who gave the tour in Spanish and Juan translated. Perfect combination. The group was also interested, mainly due to both guides as well. We ate some local specialities, which is great in Colombia. We felt very welcome, it wasn't a zoo-experience at all. Totally casual all the way and safe all the time. Please go there, you won't regret!

Francisco is an awesome tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the area, and Colombia in general. I really enjoyed being amongst the people in the neighborhood as well. There is so much positivity and good people there that are trying to continue making a positive impact. I definitely recommend this tour.
