Our winery was born as a family business, stimulated by our love of the countryside and its products. We have always believed that working on smaller scales produces better outcomes and we take great care in applying this to every stage of the winemaking process, from the vineyard to the glass of wine. The winery was built in 1942 by the visionary Numa Pesquera. It is similar to the French chateaux. This family already handled the concept of “fine wine” then, an innovative idea for Uruguayan wines. It was restored in 2002, keeping its original structure. In Bodega Bouza, in addition to the guided tour around the winery and the various vineyards, you will have the chance to appreciate the family´s great collection of vintage cars, which is displayed in the large museum and that comprises more than 30 cars and motorcycles from the 1920s on that are characteristic of life in Uruguay from the 30s on.
