Very nice experience! beautiful garden, very extensive, lots of walking and few shaded corners, so a bit difficult with young children (4 and 2 years old). We couldn't get to the Medici caves, little or no clear directions. It lacked a paper plan or possibly an app to be able to move. And also no information on the audioguides described in the statement of the activity. But on the whole to do, essential passage of the visit of Florence.

Everything worked like clockwork, but despite the crowds of tourists in the city, there was very little going on and one of the side entrances would not have been any less quick to get in. Relatively quiet garden (park) oasis in the middle of the busy city. Best view of the cathedral. Not all areas are currently accessible due to construction work, but 4.5 hectares of beautifully landscaped grounds. The botanical garden closes between 1pm and 2pm but is not to be missed. Proper inclines, a certain level of fitness and sturdy shoes are helpful.

This July was a very hot month. There is not much shade at the gardens and it is a lot of walking. There’s a lot of ground to cover if you want to see everything on their map. My adult children loved it. I’ve been to the gardens several times before and prefer October or March to this hot/humid July weather. If you have time, go enjoy a walk and get your steps in. I think it took us about 3 hrs to see it all.
