7. Jamaica: 7-Day Heritage Vacation Tour
Experience the best that Jamaica has to offer over 7 days on the Caribbean's 3rd largest island. From the old to the new world, discover Jamaica through its historic sites, adventure attractions, cuisine, culture, and music, as well as its local legends, from Bob Marley to Usain Bolt. On the first night you'll arrive at Kingston Airport and be transported to your local hotel, where you'll stay overnight before the tour begins. Day 1: Kingston Heritage Tour Visit the Bob Marley Museum to learn all about the life of the reggae music icon. Then venture over to Devon House, the capital's first mansion. After lunch, journey to Port Royal and Fort Charles, the historic location of much of Jamaica's swashbuckling pirate activity. Day 2: Blue Mountain Coffee and Nature Park Tour Tour the Blue Mountain Coffee Farm and see how some of the world's best coffee is grown and processed. Then sample a piping hot cup of it yourself and tasting just how good coffee can be. Take a break for lunch and then head onward to the Hollywell Park Forest Reserve, enjoying a nature trail walk of the Blue Mountains and observe its vast array of gorgeous plants, butterflies, and birdlife. Day 3: North Coast Adventure Tour Take a trip to Dunn's River and climb its world famous natural waterfalls. Nowhere else in the world can visitors scale a 600 feet (183 meter) waterfall safely. Enjoy lunch before spending the rest of the day at the beach, basking in the Caribbean sunshine and taking a dip in its warm sea. Day 4: South Coast History Tour Visit Lovers Leap, and learn the tragic story behind the two slave lovers who chose to end their lives from the 1600 feet (488 meter) cliff. The mood brightens with a tour of the world's oldest rum distillery to see how Appleton Rum is made. Then journey to Accompong in the hills of St. Elizabeth Parish. Day 5: North Coast Heritage Tour Take a jaunt to The Great House of Rose Hall, supposedly still haunted by the wicked white witch, Annie Palmer, who once lived there. Then tour the highlights of Falmouth, viewing its historic buildings, and the home of one Usain Bolt! After lunch there will be opportunities to shop for souvenirs at the local craft markets. Day 6: Highlights of Kingston and St. Thomas Visit the National Heroes Circle, where many of the country's national heroes are buried, passing through the Morant Bay Court House before touring the Up Park Camp Military Museum to learn about the history of Jamaica's military. Day 7: End of tour The vacation tour concludes with check-out from your hotel and transfer back to Kingston Airport for your departing flight.
