Start the day off right, with a welcome cocktail at the Blue River Resort and Hot Springs! You will arrive around 10:00, after pick-up from your hotel in Tamarindo, Pinilla or Conchal. At 10:30, depart for a short drive to the private Blue River Park. Hike along trails bordering the incredible blue volcanic and delight in the scents and sounds of the tropical rain forest as you follow the paths of 4 amazing waterfalls. Return to the Blue River Resort at midday to enjoy a delightful lunch à la carte, and then set off to explore the botanical gardens. Marvel at the approximately 700 plant varieties and visit the spectacular butterfly garden with nearly 15 species of butterflies. End your day with a relaxing dip in the natural green mineral hot springs pools and then begin your journey back at approximately 16:00, returning to your hotel at 18:30.

Wind your way around bends and through white water adrenalin-pumping chutes before reaching the calmer waters of the river. This full-day adventure is fun for any adult looking for excitement. Rocks tower out of the water and you’ll bump into them, but kept safe by your inflated rubber tube. You’ll be sent spinning forward or backward and need to hold on tight so you don’t fall out of the tube! The lush rainforest forms a scenic background, as you pass through canyons and thick jungle. In fact, the sound of the water rushing past is quiet compared to the resident howler monkeys, insects, and birds. Later you’ll spend some time at the Blue River Resort and Hot Springs, enjoying lunch, its 4 natural mineral “green” hot springs pools, mud baths, botanical gardens, butterfly farm, and fresh water pool with bullet waterslide. Itinerary 07:00: Pick-up at hotels in the Tamarindo, Pinilla, or Conchal areas. Pick-up at hotels in the Coco Beach area is at around 08:20. 10:00: Arrive at the Blue River Resort an Hot Springs for a welcome cocktail at the Spa. Change clothing to prepare for your first adventure. 10:30: Take a short drive to the drop off point near Rio Azul. Hike along a path to reach the Blue River, where your adventure begins. 12:30: Return to the Blue River Resort to enjoy a delightful à la carte lunch chosen from a special menu just for you! 13:30: After lunch you’ll visit the resort’s botanical gardens that feature more than 700 plant varieties, including heliconias, fruit-bearing trees, timber-yielding trees, and orchids. See the hummingbird garden, tropical fish lake, and the spectacular butterfly garden that sees at least 700 butterflies each day. 14:15: Take time to relax in the natural minerals hot springs pools. 16:00: Begin the return trip to your accommodation, arriving at around 18:30.

Feel an adrenaline rush as you navigate you way along 9 zip lines, woven above the rainforest canopy and grand waterfalls of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano in Guanacaste. Your full-day adventure starts with a dramatic swoop across the jungle to end at the aptly-named Tarzan Swing. Once you’ve got your land legs back, there is a rain forest hike to the Grand Waterfalls. See exotic plants as you stroll, and look out for wildlife in their natural habitat. Enjoy a delicious meal at Blue River Resort & Hot Springs. After lunch tour the Botanical Gardens, with a hummingbirds, the Butterfly Gardens, the Orchid Garden with many features like bird sanctuaries and fish ponds. Inside the gardens is a natural mud bathing and steam-room to pamper your skin. Find our source of the all-natural hot springs bubbling from the ground at 60 degrees Celsius, just behind the natural steam room. Then there is time to soak in the three hot springs pools and swim in the two freshwater pools with a bullet water slide, before departing this paradise on earth for your return trip.
