Full description

Experience an exciting 75-minute nighttime snorkeling expedition. Get up close and personal with stunning manta rays as they gracefully soar through the water. Your underwater adventure will take place in clear warm waters near protected reefs abundant with marine life.

After the sun sets, head off into the nighttime waters to see a fascinating "manta ray ballet" along the Kona coast near the mouth of Keauhou Bay. This point of departure is one of the island’s most successful and consistent manta ray viewing locations. Your snorkeling guide will outfit you with all the necessary gear needed to embark on your experience including snorkel gear, wetsuits, and flotation devices. After a quick safety briefing, plunge into the dark waters and be captivated by these graceful creatures as they feast on plankton.

Grip onto the flotation swim ring with high-illumination blue water lights that attract the plankton on which the mantas feed. Soon afterward, rays will glide through the water almost at arm's length opening their enormous mouths to feast.

After your remarkable underwater adventure, return to your boat and warm up with a nighttime snack of hot chocolate and cookies

The staff was very polite and knowledgeable. They made the whole process easy going. If you get sea sick or motion sick, I would not recommend it unless you think it would be worth it. They fit you for wet suit before boarding the boat. They have prescription goggles at check in desk, otherwise they have regular goggles on the boat.

This is probably the most legit manta ray tour offered! They have an actual building, whereas I think the other tour companies operate out of vans near the dock. Guides were great and personable, the wetsuits provided were clean and dry. They also managed to accommodate me and my 20 week pregnant belly. The manta rays get very up close and personal — even brushing your arm by accident sometimes. It takes about what felt like 10 min or so them to get really comfortable and start “dancing around” and feeding. They are so majestic! Two things to note that folks may not know are: 1) your shoulders and hands will feel tired gripping on to the manta raft. There’s about 40 minutes of actual activity and by the end my shoulders were shaking a bit. 2) You are going to get a little nauseous toward the end — I thought it was just me at first being pregnant, but turns out my husband threw up (once in the water and once on land) and the gentleman next to me also complained of his nausea too.

It was beautiful It is also only 5-10 from the boat stop Then you are in the water for about 45 minutes, which is also sufficient It is beautiful to see the animals, but after 45 minutes you have really examined them sufficiently There were several crew members on deck the happy to answer all questions I think the price for a total of 75 minutes is a little high, but since the service was really good and you felt like you were in good hands and we saw manta rays, I would definitely do it again
