Begin the tour on Bernauer Strasse, a street that is now home to an open-air documentation museum, and follow the former borderline through the center of Berlin. As you go, listen to real-life stories about the experiences of Berlin's citizens during the Cold War.
Check out an original border crossing station at the Palace of Tears. If it's open, head up to a viewing platform to see the "death strip" that aimed to prevent escape attempts. The tour concludes at another border crossing station, Checkpoint Charlie.
