Full description
"Discover Germany's turbulent post-war history on a Private Tour led by a 5-Stars Guide. Find out what happened after WWII and what life in the GDR was like. See for yourself the authentically preserved exhibits and rooms reminiscent of the 44 years of political persecution. No worries about transport, as we provide pick-up and drop-off service as well as the car-transfer between the sites. Start your tour by visiting Berlin-Hohenschonhausen Memorial, which commemorates the political persecution in the Soviet occupied zone and the GDR. At the end of WWII, a special Soviet camp was established there and a few years later it became the central Soviet prison in Germany. In 1951, the Stasi took over the prison and used it as a central detention center, where thousands of political prisoners were locked up. Explore the authentic image of the prison regime in the GDR, as large parts of the building and its equipment have been preserved. Visit the Stasi Museum and discover the authentic exhibits, as the museum’s building used to be the headquarters of the Ministry of State Security. Learn how Stasi operated and explore their original spying methods. The most important part of the museum is the office of Minister of State Security. See his well-known red briefcase, in which he used to keep the most secret information and take a look at Ministerial offices which are left untouched from the time when they were occupied. "
