  • Marvel at the building's stunning neoclassical architecture
  • Admire large format works by contemporary artists, including Andy Warhol and Cy Twombly
Embark on a 3-hour private tour of the expansive contemporary art collection at Belin’s Hamburger Bahnhof. Explore the museum with an expert guide and familiarize yourself with works by contemporary masters such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
What to Expect
Familiarize yourself with the work of some of the biggest names in contemporary art on a 3-hour guided tour of Berlin's Hamburger Bahnhof.

Erected in the mid-19th century, the structure initially served as one of the first terminal stations of the rail system, and is one of the last neoclassical stations left standing in Germany. After a lengthy reconstruction by architect Josef Paul Kleihues, the Hamburger Bahnhof re-opened in 1996 as the Museum for Contemporary Art.

Your tour kicks off with a detailed look into the works of artists of the avant-garde, who exploded the boundaries of traditional art.

Feast your eyes on large-format works by contemporary pioneers such as Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly, and Roy Lichtenstein. The collection includes elaborate installations as well as filmic spaces by artists including Paul McCarthy, Jason Rhoades, and David Weiss.

Wander the ground floor of the western side of the building, which is dedicated to the eccentric genius, Joseph Beuys. See rare works, including his media archive and related ephemera.

Enjoy a brief pause and well-deserved coffee break in the Sarah Wiener Café between collections.

On the second half of the tour you’ll move on to the contemporary painting collection, where the focus is on groundbreaking works by Gerhard Richter and Georg Baselitz, as well as Neo Rauch and Daniel Richter.

The aim of this tour is to offer a comprehensive view of famous individual works of art, while helping to build bridges between art movements and individual artists of different decades.
