We recommend this service! They were late to depart Belize City, but it was well organised despite that. We left around 1pm, and arrived to Flores at 6.30pm. You have to swap vans at the border, and they stop at an ATM in Flores if you want to take cash out. The van itself was really comfortable and had good air conditioning. BYO snacks because it is a long afternoon of travelling.

We left Belize City about half an hour late, then drove to the border and spent about an hour going through immigration. Then we switched vehicles and got a new driver who took us straight to Flores. Before dropping us off, he took us to a nearby gas station and recommended we withdraw quetzales from an ATM. Overall pretty organized and would recommend!

Full description

We start our shuttle ride meeting inside the Belize Water taxi terminal building at the Atlanta Express Travel shop. From there we head to the Western Border/ Guatemala before making a brief stop in San Ignacio to let off and collect other passengers. Border crossing can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 minutes depending on the number of people crossing on the day. Once you are through with Customs/Immigration on the Belize side, our driver will accompany you mid-point between both borders, and a handover process will happen with our Guatemalan operator, who will take over from here. As per Guatemalan regulations, a Guatemalan operator carries out all these services. The tour company we work with has been with us for several years and is highly professional and experienced. After the border crossing enjoy a scenic ride to the Island of Flores Peten. Drop off in front of the I Love Peten sign.

Van was comfy and modern with good aircon. Pick up was easy and the transfer to the second bus over the border well organised. Both had safe drivers and comfort stops on the way well arranged. This was excellent value for money and I thoroughly recommend them.
