Learn about the communist era of Serbia, which lasted from the end of World War II to the late 1990s, on a guided tour of Belgrade. Meet your guide at Republic Square, the place where Josep Broz Tito's inspiring speech proclaimed the birth of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Hear conspiracy theories and urban legends from the 2nd half of the 20th century as you learn about the fall and rise of communism in Yugoslavia. See socialistic grey edifices belonging to the constructivism era mixed with numerous monuments from the era of the Yugoslavian Kingdom.

Arrive at Terazije Square and hear about the glamorous holidays and festivities which were often celebrated here. See Hotel Moskva, and learn about the world-known celebrities and atypical guests who once stayed in its rooms. Make your way to Nikola Pašić Square, which was once known as the square of Marx and Engels. Note its Trade Union Hall and learn about the cult of work which was emphasized during the communist era. At Pioneer's Park, learn how Tito's regime was the most liberal of all countries within the communist system. See the monument of Ivo Andrić, a Nobel Prize-winning Serbian writer and a Serbian ambassador to Berlin at the beginning of World War II. Afterward, catch a trolley, a mode of public transportation used during the communist era which is still active today. Discover the district of Belgrade, Dedinje, famous for numerous embassies and residential villas.

Visit the complex of the Museum of Yugoslavia, which is devoted to the life and deeds of Josip Broz Tito, the famous leader revered as an outstanding man who led the country to a bright future. In the museum see a stunning collection of ceremonial gifts given to the Yugoslavian president, one of the most valued being a gift from the crew of Apollo 11. It was my first time in Belgrade and I was looking for a good tour. I am very glad I chose this one. Not only was it informative and entertaining but the guide asked all the participants where they were from and he weaved relevant data about our countries in to the guide so it really felt tailor made. The tour is 4 hours long but that is not a criticism...I recommend you get a comfortable pair of shoes on and join this excellent excursion.

A small group tour which covered sites connected with Tito and the period of his rule. Appropriately it ended at his mausoleum the House of Flowers and the adjacent Museum of Yugoslavia. Our guide was charming knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It doesn't include New Belgrade but realistically that could not have been fitted into the time allotted

It was an interesting tour showing different sites associated with the old Yugoslavia and then a trolleybus ride to the Yugoslavia museum which is also the resting place of Tito. The guide was knowledgeable and would answer any questions I had. I found the whole tour very enjoyable and insightful.
