Full description
Depart Belgrade and travel towards the natural reserve of Fruška Gora, home to 17 active monasteries of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Learn about the region's wine industry at a traditional winery in Sremski Karlovci, where you will sample regional wine specialties.  Marvel at the Baroque architecture of the city center, including Serbia's oldest secondary school at the Gymnasium of Karlovci. Continue to the Petrovaradin Fortress – known as the Gibraltar on the Danube – and admire the medieval fortifications built in the 17th and 18th centuries to defend the country from the Turks. Move on to Novi Sad, Serbia's second city and a melting pot of cultures thanks to its rich history on the border of the former Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman empires. Stroll along the historic streets of Dunavska and Zmaj Jovina in the pedestrian zone and see the elegant City Hall. Discover the house where Albert Einstein's wife lived, and get some free time for lunch in a traditional restaurant of Vojvodina.

I had the best time during this tour. Sasha was our guide and he's very knowledgeble and shared many stories with us. It was a pleasure listening to him. The driver, who's name is also Sasha, was very helpful, a skilled driver and made sure everybody was safe. I can only recommend booking this tour.

The tour guide Jelica was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The day was well organised and we fit a lot in one day without feeling rushed and we certainly learnt a lot. The wine tasting is one small try of a nice local wine. Make sure to bring snacks or buy some on the way as there is not time for lunch until around 3pm. Overall a great day and would highly recommend.

Overall it was a good day out of the city. I enjoyed the group I was with and Karlovci and Novi Sad are both nice. The wine tasting was lacking - the wine place we went to only offered 1 small sample of a sweet red. The guy at the winery didn’t show us the cellar or even speak with us to say hi. Our guide did tell us about the history and some information. The rest of the day made up for the wine place - in fact we stopped in at a different winery during our “free” time and were able to taste a few others and even purchased some.
