Full description
Travel from Belgrade to the beautiful region of Pomoravlje region of eastern Serbia. See two monasteries which are very important landmarks for Serbian medieval history.

First visit the medieval monastery of Manasija, also known as Resava, located on the bank of the Resava River. The monastery complex is surrounded by a massive medieval fortress. Explore the mausoleum built for Despot Stefan, which was decorated with the most valuable materials, but was also the cultural center of medieval Serbia. The monastery is located close to Despotovac, the town named after the Despot Stefan Lazarevic.

Next visit the Ravanica Monastery, the endowment of Prince Lazar. Ravanica was built in the late 14th Century and contains the holy relics of Prince Lazar, before returning to Belgrade.
