Full description

Discover the beauty of Northern Ireland and the world-famous Giant’s Causeway on a tour from Belfast. Visit the Giants Causeway, Carrickfergus Castle, Glenarm Castle, Carnlough Harbour, Waterfoot Caves, Cushendun Curfew House, Rope Bridge, and The Dark Hedges while navigating the Antrim Coast Road.

After leaving Belfast in the morning, a short journey will take you to the first stop of the day at Carrickfergus Castle, a 12th-century Norman castle. Walk around and take photographs of the castle and the harbor.

Continue the drive along the Antrim Coast Road, traveling through some of the nine Glens of Antrim. Wind through small towns and villages, hearing the myths and legends of the fairies and leprechauns that reside in these Glens.

Driving through Glenarm, pass Carnlough Harbour, the Waterfoot Caves, and Cushendun Curfew house. Travel up through Glencorp and Glendunn, passing the coastal town of Ballycastle before arriving at the Portaneevy View Point to see Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge.

Stop to admire views at the rope bridge and look across to the Mull of Kintyre in Scotland and Rathlin Island. Listen to the stories behind these sights before stopping next at the Dark Hedges, known as the Kingsroad in the Game of Thrones HBO series.

Walk among the trees made famous by the Game of Thrones followed by a lunch stop at a traditional pub (costs not included).

Later, visit more locations from the Game of Thrones. Travel by Carnlough Harbour where Arya Stark swam and pass by Magharmorne Quarry where Castle Black was located.

The finale of the day is a stop at the Giant’s Causeway where you can explore, walk across the historic stones, and learn about the legend of the Giant Finn MacCool. Discover how and why he built the Causeway.

After your day of exploring is done, travel directly back to Belfast via the inland route and get dropped off back in the city center or at the activity provider's office in Queen's Quarter.

A fabulous day out with our knowledgeable and funny guide Lindsay. We took in a number of short stops and GoT viewing points on our way to a soggy but still spectacular Giants Causeway. I am a National Trust member, so was able to take advantage of the exhibition, the audio tour and ride the bus up & down to the stones for free (as opposed to £1 each way) - but as the only one on the bus with a membership, I think the only benefit was being able to stay dry whilst waiting for the bus. Lunch was a tasty buffet at a hotel who has mastered the art of catering to coach tours, and Lindsay informed us he always gets first slot of the day - so we got the freshest food, with no queue. I went for the causeway, so the GoT stops were a bonus. I might have enjoyed a little more time with the stones if the weather had been better, but 90 minutes was quite long enough with the slice of British Summertime we had. Great trip, I’d happily travel with them again.

Great value for money, a fab way to see Belfast and Ireland outside of the city. The coach was comfortable, the driver informative and full of good craic. Highlight for me was the Dark Hedges from Game of Thrones, you can get a hot buffet lunch for £12, or go to the nearby cafe for a coffee, cake or pastries. The Giants Causeway is stunning. If you have mobility issues, it's a bit of a walk to it, so catch the bus for just £1 there and £1 back. Overall a great day out.

A great day trip! Comfy bus, good guide and a good enough amount of time at each place. I would recommend though that you bring a packed lunch. I was really glad to have mine so I didn’t have to waste time queueing at the dark hedges to buy some. The journey didn’t feel too long and there were lots of great views. Would recommend!
