Full description
The Best of Belfast walking tour is your essential introduction to Belfast’s history, culture and people. We may be famous for the Titanic and the Troubles, but there is so much more to discover. As you walk through the quarters in the heart of the city, your expert local guide will introduce you to hidden history, fantastic street art, beautiful architecture and fascinating stories of Belfast’s citizens, from the people who built the town and contributed to its success, to those who have attacked it over the centuries. In the Cathedral Quarter you will discover the finest street art in the city, together with many of your guide’s favourite bars and restaurants. You’ll also stroll along the waterfront beside the river Lagan with views across to the iconic yellow cranes, Samson and Goliath, in the shipyard where the Titanic was built over 100 years ago. You’ll pass by historic buildings such as St. Anne’s Cathedral, the Custom House, the Assembly Rooms and Kelly’s Cellars and hear their stories, and you’ll stand at the spot where Belfast first got its name. Other highlights include famous landmarks such as the Salmon of Knowledge, the Albert Clock, the Beacon of Hope, the Troubles Memorial and the Spirit of Belfast, where you will hear everything from local legends to contemporary social history and get to appreciate why Belfast is still such a unique city today. After that, you’ll explore the historic Entries at the heart of the city centre and see how they have now been turned into an outdoor art gallery, before finishing back at City Hall. By the end of the tour your guide will be like an old friend, you’ll feel connected and at home in the city and ready to make the most of your stay. Our dedicated guides are all Belfast born and bred. They bring their own unique sense of humour and their own stories to their tours too, making the time fly and providing a lot of laughs along the way.

Great detailed information provided before the trip about where to meet and start time and duration of tour plus information on what to expect. Liked the fact you could add tickets to your iPhone wallet. Our guide, Steve was friendly, informative and knowledgeable. We could all hear his commentary clearly through the headset provided despite the background noises on the busier streets. It was easy to see how much he enjoys his job and his passion for Belfast which made the tour all the more enjoyable. He offered a coffee/comfort stop halfway through the tour in case it was needed and the whole tour was set at a nice walking pace.

Best walking tour I have ever been on! Stephen our guide was a wealth off knowledge from ancient history, religious turmoil to modern times. He made it so easy and interesting to understand. I also loved the microphone and ear piece that hung over the ear comfortably rather then ones you place inside that always fall out for me. I didn't miss a word. Thank you for a great tour.

Paul was excellent with a great insider knowledge of Belfast. Lovely sense of humour and full of interesting facts and figures. Would absolutely go on a tour with Paul again. The weather helped of course (!) but the microphone and ear pieces were brilliant.
